2:40 – 3:00 PM Presentation by Giulia Capestro
3:00 – 3:30 PM Q&A/Discussion
Summary
The digital revolution, or Industry 4.0, has led to unprecedented growth in the volume and diversity of data, posing challenges in organizing, storing, and accessing information. These challenges are particularly critical in data-intensive sectors like pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, where only truly accessible data drive innovation and success.
In this webinar, we will explore how the FAIR principles form a cornerstone of Roche’s digital data strategy. By leveraging FAIRification, organizations can address the complexities of the digital age while achieving significant gains in productivity and cost efficiency.
We will look at how Roche has implemented the FAIR principles in daily workflows, focusing on effective data management strategies in global organizations. The session will also provide an overview of how data management can accelerate digitalization, improve business performance, and create social value.
Who will speak
Elena Giglia (moderator): Head of the Open Access Unit at the University of Turin. She is actively involved in national and international working groups on Open Science and is a partner in several Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects. Elena has been part of the committee that drafted the National Plan for Open Science in Italy and has participated in national and international conferences on various aspects of Open Science, including evaluation, and regularly provides training and outreach on these topics.
Giulia Capestro (Speaker): Giulia is a Scientific Project Manager with a Master’s in Data Science and six years of experience, including three years as a Data Engineer in the Customer Success Team at Novartis and three years at Roche, specializing in data harmonization. She integrates data from different areas to create a more consistent and standardized experience, promoting a data-driven culture. She has experience in applying the FAIR principles, using semantic triple stores, and ensuring interoperability between data.
