Open Science Café with Mauro Paschetta, Alessandra Giorgetti, Chiara Altobelli and Gianvito Laterza

Agenda

2:30 – 2:40 PM Opening and welcome by Mauro Paschetta

2:40 – 3:00 PM Presentation by Alessandra Giorgetti, Chiara Altobelli and Gianvito Laterza

3:00 – 3:30 PM Q&A/Discussion

The webinar explains what a Quality Management System (QMS) is and the benefits for those working with research data. The National Oceanographic Data Center at OGS started implementing the QMS to be accredited by UNESCO, a goal achieved in 2024. The accreditation demonstrates that the Center works towards quality in data management, following the FAIR principles. The QMS supports the Center's technical activities by establishing the methods for mapping and documenting organizational processes, assessing their sustainability, analyzing the context, and addressing risks and opportunities.
