Brief Summary
The webinar aims to provide an update on the progress of the Italian National Chapter of CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) and the key challenges posed by the reform at the national level. The National Chapter’s mission is to raise awareness within the Italian research community about the CoARA reform and, more broadly, to promote a responsible and holistic approach to research assessment. It seeks to facilitate mutual learning, share best practices, and encourage discussions on revising and developing evaluation criteria, tools, and processes at the institutional, individual researcher, and project levels.
Who will speak:
Elena Giglia (moderator): Head of the Open Access Unit at the University of Turin. She is actively involved in national and international working groups on Open Science and is a partner in several Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects. Elena has been part of the committee that drafted the National Plan for Open Science in Italy and has participated in national and international conferences on various aspects of Open Science, including evaluation, and regularly provides training and outreach on these topics.
Francesca Masini (speaker): Associate Professor of Linguistics at the Department of LILEC, University of Bologna, and the Rector’s Delegate for Open Science, Data, and Research Assessment. In her role, she promotes open access to knowledge produced at the university, FAIR data management, research quality, and the valorization of research outputs. She currently serves as co-chair of the Italian National Chapter of CoARA.
Francesca Di Donato (speaker): Researcher in Political Philosophy at the "A. Zampolli" Institute of Computational Linguistics (CNR). She is a member of the G7 Open Science Working Group and co-chair of the Italian National Chapter of CoARA. Among her recent publications are *"A Question of Quality or a Formality?
