Brief Summary  

This webinar will cover the journey that led the University of Milan to start monitoring research activities using open data. This process is aligned with the COARA principles and has been supported by years of promoting open science and data sharing and providing open tools and evidence. The event will also be an opportunity to present, for the first time, the dashboard showcasing collaborations between researchers and departments, fully developed using open data.

Who will speak

Elena Giglia (moderator): Head of the Open Access Unit at the University of Turin. She is actively involved in national and international working groups on Open Science and is a partner in several Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects. Elena has been part of the committee that drafted the National Plan for Open Science in Italy and has participated in national and international conferences on various aspects of Open Science, including evaluation, and regularly provides training and outreach on these topics.  

Dario Basset (speaker): With many years of experience in multinational companies, Dario has worked at the University of Milan for 12 years. He focuses on the university’s tools for research data and open science and is involved in training activities related to research data.  

Stefano Bolelli Gallevi (speaker): Stefano has been working at the University of Milan for 6 years. He oversees the Research Data Quality Office, which supports the university's Open Science policies (tools and practices).

The webinar is designed for the Italian community and is aimed at researchers, research support staff, technicians, and technologists interested in learning about topics related to open science and FAIR principles.
